David, God’s choice to be Israel’s king was anointed by Prophet Samuel in a dramatic manner. He poured oil upon his head and this act was a sure sign that the Holy Spirit was coming upon him.
But why would God chose David out of all other people in Israel? Our answer is in David’s character, his trust in God with his whole life. Here is a man who desired to please God with everything that he thought, said, and did. David had a heart completely committed to God. Child of God, have the character like that of David and serve God with all your heart. The anointing Oil is coming to seal the honour that God is placing upon you. No matter how people will become jealous, they will witness you being anointed and your blessing manifesting.
Prayer
Father, help me to have the right attitude. Keeping my heart pure before You. I don’t want to harbor any anger, jealousy or worry. I want to love You with all my heart. As the oil comes upon my head today, I am believing You for supernatural transformation in Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
